Septa History

SEPTA was formed by the Pennsylvania legislature in 1963. In 1965, SEPTA obtained two predecessor agencies: The Passenger Service Improvement Corporation (PSIC), The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Compact (SEPACT). SEPTA is headquartered at 1234 Market Street in Center City, Philadelphia.
