Interstate Batteries was founded in the year 1952. The company has been operational for almost more than 67 years now. The founder of the company was John Searcy. Starting in the year 1950, the founder of the company began selling and also delivering various kinds of car batteries to wholesalers, located in the Fort Worth and Dallas area of Texas, USA. The name of the company was after the Interstate Highway system, that was being built across the USA during that time. In the year 1978, the founder of the company had retired and left the leadership of the company to the then chairman and president of the company, known as Norm Miller. During the 1980s, the company had almost 50 distributors located around Canada and the USA.
