The name of the company was after the Interstate Highway system, that was being built across the USA during that time. In the year 1978, the founder of the company had retired and left the leadership of the company to the then chairman and president of the company, known as Norm Miller. During the 1980s, the company had almost 50 distributors located around Canada and the USA.
