Instacart was founded in the year 2012. The company has been active for almost seven years now. The founders of the company were Brandon Leonardo, Apoorva Mehta and Max Mullen. One of the company’s co-founders, Apoorva Mehta was a former Amazon employee. The company had launched its services in the San Francisco Bay Area in the year 2012. Slowly over the years, the company started to expand to 15 cities by the year 2014, including Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Boston, Boulder, Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, New York City, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, San Jose and Washington, DC. In the year 2015, the company had employed Ravi Gupta as its first CFO.
