Footlocker was founded in the year 1974. The company has been active for almost 44 years now. The founders of the company were Santiago Lopez and F W Woolworth. The company had branched off the Kinney Shoe Corporation. The first store of the company was opened in Puente Hills Mall, California, USA. By the year 1989, the company had adopted a strategy to open ten speciality stores at each major mall of the country – an idea that never came into fruition.
