TNA was founded in the year 2002. The company has been operational for almost 16 years now. The founders of the company were Jerry Jarrett and Jeff Jarrett. The idea for the company started after the World Championship Wrestling ended in the year 2001. The first show was aired in the year 2002, along with sufficient financial backing as well. The same year, Panda Energy had acquired a 72 per cent controlling share in the company as well. In the year 2004, the company had started a weekly pay per view show. During the same year, the company also launched various other relevant shows as well, namely – Xplosion, TNA Global Impact and TNA Today. Xplosion ceased to air in the year 2006.
