Yum Brands History

Yum Brands was founded in the year 1997. The company has been operational for more than 20 years now. It was created with the name Tricon Global Restaurants Incorporated and the subsidiary of the fast food division of PepsiCo. The same year, Tricon Global was also spun out as a separate company as well. In the year 2000, Tricon Global had acquired Yorkshire Global Restaurants and thus renamed it to Yum Brands. The name of the company was changed in the year 2002.
